James is well recognized globally as an expert in electric vehicles and solar energy. Quoted in the Washington Post as the “Henry Ford of solar cars,” James continues to bring this expertise to Worden Marine. James is a visionary with 35 years’ of experience building companies all with a focus on commercialization and making these technologies cost effective, reliable, safe and ubiquitous. Before founding Worden Marine, James was the founder and CEO of Solectria Corporation and Solectria Renewables LLC - now a Yaskawa Company.

Jimmy has over 40 years’ experience in civil engineering, construction, and construction management. He brings the connection of the built environment, infrastructure and operations to Worden Marine. He has owned, operated and been a partner in multiple businesses in the fields including founding VHB, and helping to grow the transportation line of business to become an Engineering Top 100 firm.

Peter has 28 years’ experience as an officer in the US Coast Guard, commander of 3 cutters and Captain of the Port, now retired. During his career in the USCG, he was the Director for Global Affairs on the White House National Security Council. More recently, Peter was the CEO of the Kostas Research Institute at Northeastern University which accelerates the process of bringing new technologies to market. Peter has operational, regulatory, safety and practical knowledge of marine vessels and equipment, and holds an unlimited Master’s license for vessels of any size on all oceans.

A 2002 graduate of MIT, Alex specializes in designing and building electronics for off-grid solar systems. As Founder and CTO at Genasun, his products are popular in the marine industry and are trusted all over the world. Alex is also an avid sailor, having twice crossed the Atlantic solo on an engineless sailboat.

With over 40 years’ experience spanning electrical, electronics, drafting, structural, solar system design & construction, John’s expertise is invaluable to Worden Marine. His solar experience includes residential, commercial, and utility-scale projects. Before joining Worden Marine, John held senior level engineering positions at Blue Ridge Power and at Borrego Solar. John is also a US Air Force veteran.

Karen has been an attorney since 1991. In 2001, she founded Karen Welling Consulting, a professional legal recruiting company that specializes in customized career and hiring solutions. She has over 30 years of legal experience in recruiting, hiring, contracts and employment.

Dave is an MIT educated mechanical engineer with 35 years’ experience in mechanical and systems design. His skills include CAD designs and manufacturing designs in many different industries. He is a talented musician and can be seen playing many Boston venues.
